Stage 3: City

You begin this level amidst an old construction site.

Another one of those Contra 3 bad guys. That spotlight was come fancy Mode 7 action back in the day.

This big fat thing attaches to the ceiling and fires shots that bounce at 45 degree angles. This wouldn't be so bad, except there's a lot of them, and its dropping little minds on the conveyor belt as well. Just don't make the mistake of grappling onto the ceiling.

I need to include this shot, as the creature is ground into meat. Note the green blood so the game could get a Teen rating. Crazy ESRB.

This creature will happily munch on the remains of its fallen comrade until you decide to attack. My Contra buddy NeoRasa swore that this was foreshadowing to the plot of the game, that it proved that you were really the aggressors against the aliens. He left the PS2 on at this point for some eight hours, and when we came back, the monster was still docile. Don't know exactly what that proves.

The level boss is this huge walking tank, forcing you to run backwards while attacking its cannons.

Eventually it'll take up the whole screen and you'll need to latch onto the ceiling.

Once the rest of it is defeated, you'll have to attack the rear - which will fire out a huge laser beam.
