For some reason, these next few areas continue uninterrupted - they were broken up into three seperate stages in the NES version. First on the annoying list of baddies in this boss run is the airborne land mine dropper.
I'm sure this tundra was a beautiful site to arcade gamers back in 1989.
You have no idea how much this spiked car pisses me off. One can destroy their thumb pounding the fire button so you can destroy it before it rams into you. In the NES game, if you had an autofire controller, you were set. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that here.
Remember that big robot the jumped up and down a lot in the NES version? Now it looks like a football player for some reason.
As long as you can avoid the pipers that inexplicable shoot out flames, this part is pretty short and easy.
Yes, here's the spiked corridor agian.
This thing has always looked quite fierce. Given the positioning on the lump o' skulls now though, it's a bit harder to shoot this monster in the face while dodging his projectiles.
The grey color palette makes this whole final level look a lot more like H. R. Giger's work than the pink used before.
It's the same alien heart. Still hectic. Except the ending is actually crappier.
